May: Eugene Onegin, Wiener Staatsoper, and Wigmore Hall Recital
In May 2026, Asmik Grigorian continues her run as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin at the Metropolitan Opera, with performances on May 2, 5, 9, 12, and 16. These appearances follow the success of her return to the role in April.
A live broadcast of this production airs on WHRO-FM 90.3 on Saturday May 2nd at 1 p.m., bringing the performance to radio audiences. In the Metropolitan Opera cast, baritone Iurii Samoilov stars in the title role, opposite Ms. Grigorian’s Tatiana, whose “Letter Scene” remains one of the opera’s most emotionally powerful moments.
During the broadcast, the first intermission includes exclusive filmed interview excerpts with Ms. Grigorian, in which she discusses the music, drama, and psychology of the “Letter Scene,” as well as her approach to preparing this pivotal moment.

Later in the month, Grigorian returns to the Wiener Staatsoper in Eugene Onegin,with performances on May 22, 24, 28, and 31, alongside Boris Pinkhasovich in the title role of Dmitri Tcherniakov’s introspective production.

On May 26th, Ms. Grigorian appears at Wigmore Hall in recital with her longtime partner, pianist Lukas Geniušas. The programme includes the rarely heard version of Richard Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder arranged for piano and vocalises from Russia and France.
