Summer engagements

This summer, Ms. Grigorian makes two appearances at the Salzburger Festspiele. The first is in Verdi’s Macbeth where she makes her role debut as Lady Macbeth. This operatic adaptation of Shakespeare's tragic play, explores themes of ambition, guilt, and the corrupting nature of power. Ms. Grigorian shares the stage with Vladislav Sulimsky as the title-role, Tareq Nazmi as Banco, Jonathan Tetelman as Macduff and Caterina Piva as Asmik’s Lady-in-waiting. Maestro Philippe Jordan conducts. Performances are held on July 29th; August 6th, 10th, 14th, 19th and 24th. The premiere will be broadcast on ORF 2, Arte, Arte Concert, and BR Klassik on July 29.

Her second engagement at the Salzburger Festspiele is a lied recital with her chamber music partner Lukas Geniušas on 16th August. The pair perform songs from their album Dissonance which was released last year. To conclude the season, Grigorian and Geniušas bring their recital to Die Glocke in Bremen on 27th August, where Ms. Grigorian performs for the second time, after making her debut with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen earlier this year.
