Debut at The Metropolitan Opera

This month, Ms. Grigorian makes her highly anticipated debut at The Metropolitan Opera, portraying the role of Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Following her recent triumph at the Royal Opera House in London last month, where her interpretation garnered widespread acclaim, publications such as The Guardian hailed the soprano as “the standout attraction here. Physically and vocally, Grigorian inhabits the part to a degree one does not often experience.” Joining Ms. Grigorian on this occasion are Jonathan Tetelman as Pinkerton, Elizabeth DeShong as Suzuki, and Lucas Meachem as Sharpless, under the baton of Maestra Xian Zhang.

Performances take place on April 26th and 30th; May 4th, 7th and 11th.

The performance on May 11th will be transmitted live to cinemas as part of the award-winning The Met: Live in HD series.
