October: Role Debuts at the Wiener Staatsoper

In October 2026, Asmik Grigorian makes two important role debuts at the Wiener Staatsoper as Bianca in Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie and Judith in Bartók’s Herzog Blaubarts Burg. These roles continue to expand her work in the 20th-century repertoire, following acclaimed performances in roles including Marie in Wozzeck, Chrysothemis in Elektra, and Salome. She stars alongside Dmitry Golovnin, Christopher Maltman, and Florian Boesch, under the baton of Alain Altinoglu. 

Performances take place on October 3, 6, 8, 10, and 12, 2026 at Wiener Staatsoper.

The premiere on October 3 will be broadcast live on Radio Ö1 from 7:00pm. Save the broadcast details here. The October 10 performance will also be streamed live from 7:00p.m. on the Wiener Staatsoper’s streaming platform, play.wienerstaatsoper.at. The stream will be available worldwide and free of charge, with registration required, and will remain available for catch-up for 72 hours. 

Later in the month, Grigorian joins internationally acclaimed tenor Plácido Domingo for an Opera Gala at Royal Arena Denmark on October 20, 2026.
