Asmik wins the Österreichister Musiktheaterpeis: “Best Female Leading Role”

Asmik Grigorian has been awarded the prestigious Österreichister Musiktheaterpeis in the “Best Female Leading Role” category for her portrayal of Norma at the Theater an der Wien.

This is the third time the soprano has been a laureate, as she was also honored in 2019 and 2024.

Founded by Consul Prof. Karl-Michael Ebner in 2012, the Austrian Music Theater Prize recognizes notable achievements across Austria’s opera, theater, musical theater, and ballet scene. Each year, productions and artists from the previous season are considered by a jury of media professionals, with additional nominations allowing the awards to reflect the breadth of Austria's performing arts landscape.

The 14th annual awards ceremony took place on September 8, 2026, at Vienna’s Votive Church.
