ICMA - Vocal Album of the Year

Asmik and Lukas Geniusas’ album Dissonance has been named album of the year in the “Vocal Music” category at the 2022 edition of the International Classical Music Awards. The jury commented: ‘Grigorian’s instrumental soprano conveys the feelings of loneliness, pain and ecstasy in an intense way and delicately emphasizes the meanings of the poem.’

Asmik would like to thank the entire creative team at Alpha Music who worked on this project, her musical partner on the album, Lukas Geniusas, and the jury of the ICMA awards for this honour.

This award adds to the list of awards that Dissonance has won, including Gramophone’s Song Prize 2022, and spectacular reviews from the press including five stars and being named one of the best classical music albums of 2022 by The Financial Times, and four stars from The Sunday Times.

“Her tone at its fullest, all velvet-wrapped steel, gleams with enough edge to cut through anything a full-throttle Rachmaninov piano part can throw at it!” -The Guardian
