September: Strauss, Desdemona, and Recital at Teatro Real

Asmik Grigorian opens the 2025/26 season on September 7th with a performance of Richard Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder - one of her signature pieces - with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. The concert takes place at Berwaldhallen in Stockholm and will be broadcast live on Swedish Radio P2.

Later in the month, Grigorian returns to the stage of Teatro Real in Madrid as Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello, conducted by Nicola Luisotti and directed by David Alden. She is joined by Brian Jagde in the title role and Igor Golovatenko as Iago.

Performances are scheduled for September 19, 22, 25, 28 and October 2 and 5. Tickets and more information can be found here.

To close the month, Grigorian presents a recital with pianist Lukas Geniušas at Teatro Real, featuring works by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
