October: Salome in Hamburg, Gala in Vienna, and Recitals in Milan and Berlin

In October, Asmik Grigorian’s operatic engagements include performances of Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello at Teatro Real in Madrid, and a return to the role of Salome - one of her signature roles! - this time at the Hamburg Staatsoper. She is joined by Kyle Ketelsen as Jochanaan, Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke as Herodes, and Doris Soffel as Herodias. The production is conducted by Omer Meir Wellber and staged by Dmitri Tcherniakov.

In addition to her performances on the operatic stage, she performs in recital in Vienna, Milan and Berlin. On October 15, Grigorian appears at the Wiener Konzerthaus for the GW Cosmetics Charity Gala 2025, benefiting Licht ins Dunkel. The charity supports families in need in Europe. She performs alongside pianists Lukas Geniušas and Petras Geniušas. 

The program includes works by Antonín Dvořák (Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém), Giacomo Puccini (Un bel dì, vedremo, Sola, perduta, abbandonata, In questa reggia), Giuseppe Verdi (Tu che la vanità, La luce langue), and Richard Strauss (Tanz der sieben Schleier, Ah! Du wolltest mich nicht deinen Mund küssen lassen), with arrangements for soprano and two pianos by Petras and Lukas Geniušas.

On October 19, she performs a recital at Teatro alla Scala with baritone Karl-Magnus Fredriksson and pianist Hyung-ki Joo. The program includes Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder, Zueignung, Cäcilie, and Morgen.

She concludes the month with a Liederabend at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden on October 21 with pianist Lukas Geniušas, singing songs by Sergei Rachmaninov.
