Debut in Japan

Ms. Grigorian returns to one of her signature roles, the title role in R. Strauss’ Salome, for her debut in Japan. Her performance at the Salzburg Festival in 2019 was described by the Financial Times as “a Salome to end all Salomes”. This time, she performs two concert versions with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Conducted by Maestro Jonathan Nott, the first concert will take place at the Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall on November 18th, and the second is on November 20th at the Suntory Hall. Ms. Grigorian is joined by Tanja Ariane Baumgartner as Herodias, Michael Weinius as Herod and Tómas Tómasson as Jochanaan.
